AM JUST A BROTHER
by: Promike Kamwendo
The Song "Aleke anene" profitably says that,
Because I was born inside;
I must marry inside.
The Bible itself justifies that,
Because I must die inside;
I shouldn't associate with the outside.
Now am trying to be myself,
Trying to follow the word to the letter,
But your sweet voice states am a brother...
Girl; take a breath,
Statistically we share no scarlet liquid,
The masses justifically call you 'Mlongo'
But that's not the path we take.
I practiced this song for decades,
And if I might be right;
I became a sheep just to bleat for you.
Now you shut the door in my face
Am I just a brother?
Hey girl;
If I am to marry outside this conclave,
it's an abomination,
But the voice on Genesis 2 verse 18 to 24,
Can bind our faith
Make haste before I drop my faith,
For that's the worst leap;
So let our kins share the song,
And dance to the union.
